Tonight for Arts at the Aviary, we painted. Patience volunteered to give a review of the evening’s activities…
Ooo. Me Like. Color’s are ready.
Here’s how you do it. Brush in water. Brush in paint. Brush on paper. Yup, like this.
Good job, Brian!
Wait, is it upside down?
Hmmm. What do you think? Let’s go over here and see what Daddy’s doing.
Wow, Dad. That’s very right brain of you. I love how the sun looks like a flower, as in, a sunflower. It is much brighter than Mom’s color palette.
What’d you say, Mom? Oh, I’m supposed to tell you that she would have done some more interesting colors if she had not been holding a squirmy baby most of the time. Gee. Wonder who that could have been.
^^^^^^^
Notes.
* I (Naomi) may have taken some liberties with the wording. Patience’s diction is a little mumbly.
** Thank you to Brian Skellenger for visiting with us for the evening. He is a locally based actor whom Nathan met last summer at the Guthrie while they were both aboard the H.M.S. Pinafore. AubreyElla was hoping that he would be wearing “the flapper” – referring to the sailor shirt design. I guess she has a bit to learn about the difference between reality and acting and how the whole costume thing works.
***Brian kindly let us keep his painting. It’ll be for sale soon at my not-qute-yet-existent etsy store. Just kidding. Maybe. Maybe not.
****Painting is fun.
This update, by far, was one of the best. Naomis capture of simple beauty is delightful while Nathan’s sun-flower approach is eloquently proportioned
We love the weekly updates – they fill our cups.
Kyra was concerned however that miss Auba did not get sufficient stage time in this edition of AAA.
Kyra loves Patience’ picture with that sheepish grin and her hand over it. She says she can still see the sheep though!
Did you realize you are part of the triple a now !?
Thanks ladies! 🙂 Miss Auba had not had a nap that day, so she went to bed early. Will you two PLEASE come share your art with us sometime soon?
